We're building George's first list of safe meet-up spots — well-lit, public places where a woman can hand over a pram, a couch or a school blazer without giving a stranger her home address. Know a spot you trust? Add it in 2 minutes.
Marketplace and the George buy-and-sell groups are brilliant for moms and small businesses. But the handover can leave you feeling uneasy.
"Just come fetch it at my house."
It's easy — but now a stranger knows where you and your children live.
"Can we meet after work?"
By then it's dark, and "the parking lot" turns out to be the quiet corner of it.
"I'll just bring the kids along."
Because there's no one to watch them — and you're not quite sure where you're going.
Imagine if every woman in George simply knew where the safe places were — because other women had already shared them.
That's what we're building, together.Think of the places where you'd happily meet a stranger — and why. A good safe spot usually ticks a few of these boxes:
Bright enough to see faces and number plates — even on a grey Garden Route afternoon.
Other shoppers, families, staff — plenty of eyes around at the times people usually meet.
Cameras covering the parking or entrance — a big deterrent for anyone up to no good.
Guards at the boom, car guards you know, or a police station right there.
You can park close, see the entrance, and leave quickly without getting boxed in.
Open early, late or on weekends — the times most of us actually do our handovers.
You share what you already know. We check it. Every woman in town benefits.
Tell us your name and area, the place, why it feels safe — and drop a pin on the map. About 2 minutes, no account.
Our team reviews every single spot before it goes live, so the list stays trustworthy.
It's added to the free Safe Meet-Up Spot map, with directions, for every woman to use before her next deal.
Tell us about a place where you'd feel comfortable meeting a stranger from Marketplace — and drop a pin so other women can find it.
Your spot is safely with us. Once our team has checked it, it'll appear on the George Safe Spot list for every woman who needs it.
One more small thing? Share this with the women in your life — the more spots we have, the safer every handover in George becomes.
A safe spot is step one. These small habits do the rest — screenshot this and keep it on your phone.
You're worth being careful for. 💛The list is only as good as the women who add to it. Share this page with your friends, your moms' group and your WhatsApp neighbourhood chat — one share could mean one more safe handover.
Not at all. Just add your first name and where you're from so we know a real woman from our community shared the spot. That's it.
Only if you want it to be. Your name, area and email stay private with our team unless you tick "Show 'Shared by me'" on the form — then only your first name and area appear next to your spot.
"The mall" can mean five different entrances. A pin shows other women exactly which parking row or door you mean — and lets them tap for directions on the day.
Our You're Worth It team reviews every submission before it appears on the list. We're not the police and can't guarantee any place — but we do make sure each spot is sensible and genuinely public.
Every spot on the list has a Report button. If a few women report the same spot, it's automatically taken off the list until we've looked at it again.
Yes, please! Coffee shops, nurseries, pharmacies, gyms — if you'd welcome women doing handovers at your door, add it and mention the opening hours in the "anything else" box.
Of course — after you submit, tap "Add another spot". The more, the better.
Email hello@youreworthit.site and we'll remove them. Your spot can stay on the list without your name.
Thank you for helping us make every handover, every sale and every school-uniform swap a little safer.
