The ground rules, plainly said
What you can expect from us, what we ask of you, and the honest print on meetups, wellness content, and the Marketplace.
Last updated:
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using You're Worth It ("YWI", "we", "us"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the platform.
2. Who can use this
You must be 18 or older to create an account. By signing up, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you'll keep it that way.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. One account per person, please. Tell us right away if you think your account's been compromised.
4. Your content stays yours
Whatever you write in your journal, add to your calendar, or post to a group belongs to you. Using YWI just means you're giving us the limited right to store and display it back to you (and, where you've chosen to make something public or members-only, to the people it's meant for) so the platform can actually work. We don't claim ownership of anything you create.
5. Community conduct
This is a space built on real respect between women. When you post, comment, or message in a group, we ask that you don't:
- Harass, threaten, or demean another member.
- Post hate speech, or content that targets someone's race, religion, disability, or identity.
- Spam the community with unsolicited promotion outside the Marketplace.
- Impersonate someone else, or misrepresent who you are.
- Share another member's private information without her consent.
We can remove content or suspend an account that breaks these — we'd rather not have to, but we will if it keeps the community safe.
6. The Marketplace — free to list, not vetted by us
Listing your business, product, or service in the Marketplace is free during our launch period. Every listing is reviewed before it goes live, mainly to keep the space genuinely for women and free of spam — that review isn't a background check, and it isn't an endorsement. We don't verify business registration, product quality, or service delivery for any listing.
If you contact or buy from a business through the Marketplace, that transaction is between you and that member. Use your own judgment, the way you would with any marketplace, and let us know if a listing seems dishonest or unsafe so we can look into it.
7. In-person meetups — attend at your own discretion
Meetups organised through YWI, whether by our team or by members, are optional and voluntary. We don't run background checks on attendees, and we can't guarantee the conduct or safety of anyone who shows up. Please use the same care you'd use meeting anyone new: meet in a public place, tell someone where you're going, and trust your instincts.
YWI isn't liable for anything that happens at a meetup, including between members, to the fullest extent the law allows.
8. Meditation & wellness content — not a substitute for care
The Meditation Library, including videos embedded from other creators on YouTube, is offered for general relaxation and wellbeing. It is not medical or mental health treatment, and it's not a substitute for seeing a qualified doctor, therapist, or counsellor. If you're in crisis or need urgent support, please contact a local emergency service or a mental health helpline directly — don't wait on anything here.
Embedded videos remain the property of their original creators. We don't host, edit, or control that content, and we credit and link back to the original wherever it appears.
9. Cost
You're Worth It is free to use, including the Marketplace, during our launch period. If we introduce paid features in future, we'll be upfront about it, give existing members notice, and update these terms before anything changes.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using YWI and ask us to delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we'll try to tell you why when we do.
11. No guarantees
We work hard to keep YWI running smoothly, but we offer it "as is," without guaranteeing it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available every moment. To the fullest extent the law allows, YWI isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and any dispute will be handled in South African courts.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform grows. We'll update the date above when we do, and let members know directly if a change is significant.
