Some days don’t need a five-year plan.
They need a snack.
Maybe you’re having one of those days.
You know the ones.
Your alarm didn’t go off.
Your coffee was disappointing.
Someone sent you an email that began with “Just following up…”
And then you stubbed your toe.
At that point, changing your entire life feels like a bit much.
So here are ten tiny things that might help.
1. Change your clothes.
Put on something comfortable.
Instantly become 14% more emotionally stable.
Science? No.
Vibes? Absolutely.
2. Make your favourite drink.
Coffee. Tea. Hot chocolate.
Put it in the nice mug.
Yes, that mug.
You bought it for a reason.
3. Go outside for ten minutes.
You don’t need hiking boots and a spiritual awakening.
Just step outside.
Breathe.
Look at the sky.
Notice that the world is still turning despite your terrible Tuesday.
4. Put on a song you LOVE.
Not the respectable playlist.
The one that makes you dramatically clean the kitchen like you’re starring in your own music video.
5. Have a shower.
Sometimes you don’t need answers.
You need hot water and ten minutes of nobody talking to you.
6. Delete one annoying thing from your to-do list.
Not everything.
Just one.
Future You will appreciate the gesture.
7. Message your funniest friend.
Not the one who gives sensible advice.
The funny one.
You need someone who will respond with something wildly inappropriate and make you laugh.
8. Eat something.
A shocking number of emotional crises improve after food.
We are complicated creatures.
9. Stop scrolling.
If you’ve been consuming bad news, arguments and other people’s highlight reels for an hour, your brain may need a holiday.
Put the phone down.
10. Go easy on yourself.
This one costs nothing.
You don’t have to turn a bad day into a good day.
Sometimes the goal is simply to make it less crap.
And that’s okay.
Tomorrow doesn’t need to be perfect either.
You can just try again.
For tonight, drink your favourite thing, put on something comfortable, eat something delicious and remember:
You don’t have to fix your whole life before bedtime.
Sometimes surviving Tuesday with your sense of humour intact is achievement enough.
